Meet the therapists.

Our therapists are relationship experts who help disconnected children, individuals, and couples get closer, healthier, and happier.
We work with you to heal your soul from the past, nurture your hearts, and open yourself to freely give and receive love.

Our therapists are trained and supervised by Dr. Portela.

Dr. Heloisa Portela, LPCS, NCC, ACS, RPT-S, Director

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor providing counseling services and psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. In addition to psychotherapy, I provide clinical supervision and training for mental health practitioners. I'm one of a handful of Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisors in Wake County who are also credentialed as a supervisor in play therapy.

I love people. I want to know them, to help them, to make them smile. I'm curious by nature and enjoy trying to understand what's beyond what they present. That's why I became a psychotherapist. I've worked with children, adults, couples, and families since 1994.

Before moving to the U.S., I was a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Brazil, where I specialized in working with families, adults, and adolescents. Once in the U.S., I became a Licensed Professional Counselor and expanded my practice to include children and couples.

Monica Martini, MA, LPC, NCC, CCMHC, CCMC

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor interested in improving the well-being of others by helping them grow emotionally and in their pursuit of happiness. I'm also a certified facilitator of parenting education groups based on the positive discipline theory, a National Certified Counselor, a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and a Certified Clinical Military Counselor.

I've been working with children most of my professional life. I'm fascinated by children and how their minds work and develop. I'm also passionate about parenting education, which is why I'm pursuing my Registered Play Therapist certification.

The most important skills I have to offer you as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor are compassion and a sincere interest in helping you regain emotional and behavioral health.
