Ashley McGee, MSW, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about serving others and walking alongside clients in their pursuit of emotional and mental wellness. By embracing a person-centered approach, I encourage client autonomy and foster a safe, therapeutic environment for individuals to facilitate change.

I have worked with a range of mental health disorders in both acute inpatient and outpatient settings. I also have experience working with individuals of diverse cultures and backgrounds to include all age groups, gang-affiliated youth, victims of human trafficking, LGBTQ+ youth, substance abuse, neurodivergency, and military personnel and families. In my work with clients, I primarily utilize psychodynamic and somatic modalities.

I am trained in attachment theory, polyvagal theory, Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy (ISTT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills and techniques, and Play Therapy.

In addition, I am passionate about advocating for social justice and actively participate in humanitarian efforts in Cambodia and the United States. In my spare time, I enjoy culinary challenges, curling up with a good book, and exploring the outdoors with my husband and our dog.

I am fascinated by how the body and mind processes trauma; it is a goal of mine to help clients achieve integration of body, mind, and spirit. As a clinician, compassion and empathy are at the forefront of my practice.
